The small crop in 2010 gave a lot of concentration and "medium-plus" maturity, said Hugues Pavelot. "The 2010s are a great surprise," he went on, "true Burgundies with brightness and a lovely balance of acidity, fruit, richness and tannins: classic-plus in terms of elegance." In comparison, he says, the 2009s have sweeter, more thoroughly buffered tannins and the '08s, though not quite as ripe as the '10s, are spicier. The wines were moved into cuves before or just after the 2011 harvest.
