The wines to focus on this year at Roses de Jeanne are not the usual suspects. The effects of frost are impossible to escape in the 2017s, all of which are smaller scaled and less explosively dramatic than they usually are. There is no Haute Lemblé this year, as yields were tiny, even by Cedric Bouchard’s standards. On the other hand, the 2019 Val Vilaine and 2014 Côte de Bechalin are especially fine. As always, the wines are done in a very minimalist style, always in tank, with natural ferments, no fining or filtration and no dosage at bottling.
