Winemaker Danielle Cyrot presented a terrific set of 2022 Cabernet Sauvignons at Cade. Harvest took place from September 12 to October 12, so on the later side for the year. Cyrot typically gives the wines pretty short ferments because the Howell Mountain tannins tend to extract easily, but in 2022, she lengthened time on the skins and reduced temperatures because the wines extracted slowly. The 2022s are less overly potent than most years, but that is not a bad thing at all for these typically bruising Cabernets.
