Brothers Guillaume (Clos Solène, PharaohMoans and Al Lago) and Arnaud Fabre, natives of Narbonne, in France’s southern Languedoc region, have solidified their small project’s position in the upper level of Paso Robles wine in short order, to the point where their minuscule production is pretty much called for immediately upon release. It’s not hard to understand why, as the wines are impeccably made (which will come as no surprise to anybody who has sampled Guillaume’s work over the years). A sixth-generation winemaker, his wines here emphasize sharp detail as well as depth and intensity, showing some new oak presence when the wines are young but balanced with deeply flavored though not heavy fruit character.
