Lisa and Les Behrens excel with rich, sumptuous wines loaded with personality. Although the wines all have colorful names and labels, the blends are all highly intriguing and original. In early-maturing, warm years, like 2015, ripeness is sometimes pushed to the edge, but the wines are never lacking in personality.

There are plenty of highlights in these wines from Les Behrens and Lisa Drinkward. The 2013s are rich, powerful wines that capture all of the intensity of the year. So far, the selection of 2014s I have tasted point to a more slender, mid-weight style. As always, the Behrens wines are made in a racy, forward style that makes them pretty much impossible to resist upon release.
