More than 50 years of history, roughly 55 hectares of vines, and Umbria’s best white and sweet wines: there, in a nutshell, is a description of the Barberani estate. One of the estate’s accomplishments is the resurrection of high-quality, late harvest, noble-rot-affected Orvieto wines, both dry and sweet. Their Calcaia Muffa Nobile, made with mainly Grechetto grapes hit by noble rot, was first made in 1981 and is an archetype of this wine style.
