Owner/winemaker Brad McLeroy told me that he's becoming more and more intrigued by working with a higher percentage of whole clusters "because the spiciness that they can bring works really well with Ribbon Ridge fruit, which always seems to have a cinnamon quality to begin with." But he emphasized that his methodology is "pretty slow and steady, evolutionary and definitely not revolutionary." At the end of our tasting McLeroy showed me his 2005 line-up: all three bottlings appear to be ready to drink but will not be heading off the cliff any time soon.
