A remarkable evolution has taken place at Argiano. The estate has worked diligently to shake off the shackles of its reputation for the big, dark, oak-inflected wines of the past. Their focus on the vineyards, soils and vines has paved the way for a very bright future. The 2020 Vigna del Suolo is a perfect example. Going back two decades, the Vigna del Suolo was an IGT Sangiovese of little regard, but today, it’s one of the top wines of the year. The Brunello di Montalcino is no slouch, either. Argiano did a fantastic job of maintaining a solid core of vibrant fruit to offset the high acidity and extract of the season, lending these wines a lovely balance.
