2016 Sauvignon Blanc EX

This producer has been flying under the radar for some time now and, in the context of the pricing for top-notch producers of the region, the wines deliver solid and often impressive value. Unfortunately, production is limited for many bottlings, even compared to other wineries here, which tend to the small side, anyway. Owner Michael Thomas works with the consultancy of veteran winemaker Byron Kosuge, who is well-known for his work over the years with Small Vines and Saintsbury in California and Kingston Family Vineyards in Chile, as well as at his own B. Kosuge Wines. Unsurprisingly to fans of Kosuge’s work, the wines here tend to the elegant side, with the balance to age.
