I tasted the Wayfarer 2023s twice, once just after bottling and then a second time a few months later. It's a fabulous vintage for this estate in Fort Ross-Seaview. Two thousand twenty-three was the latest vintage ever at Wayfarer and only the second October harvest here. A cool, wet season pushed ripening back by around a month. Longtime winemaker Todd Kohn used about 15% stems for the Pinots across the board, the highest ever. The wines were bottled in December 2024. Wayfarer fans will also want to check out the new Ways of Wayfarer range from Proprietor Cleo Pahlmeyer and her husband, Jamie Watson. The wines draw from sources outside the Wayfarer estate, including the original Pahlmeyer vineyard on Atlas Peak.
