Viña Ventisquero is one of the leading companies in Chile. I tasted 24 wines by this producer, which are split across two brands, Ventisquero and Kalfu, that hail from the north of Chile down into the Central Valley. The company’s chief winemaker, Felipe Tosso, seeks estate grown grapes from locales ranging from the Huasco vineyard on the outskirts of the Atacama Desert to the Apalta Valley in the Colchagua Region. To get an idea of their terroir-focused approach, try their Syrah and Pinot Noir, from the Tara and Sumpai brands respectively.
