Sella is among the historic estates in Alto Piemonte and was one of the first wineries I visited here many moons ago. The broad range encompasses a number of wines, always across staggered vintages, which provides a terrific opportunity to revisit years that are long gone in most cellars. The best wines are superb, but I also found some inconsistency throughout the range, perhaps a reflection of the wide range of vintages that always make up the releases for any given year. In my view, there is plenty of room for growth. Given their brand and established lineage in Alto Piemonte, Sella should really be at the top of the pack.
