This is another strong set of wines from Staglin. The wines are delineated, aromatically expressive and very much medium in body, which is to say in the style of the year. Winemaker Fredrik Johansson gave the 2016s an average of 32-36 days on the skins, although some lots were shorter and some longer. The 2016 spent about 21 months in barrel and a month in tank prior to bottling. More importantly, Staglin continues to move in a direction of finesse with their estate wines.
