Spottswoode is one of the great names in Napa Valley. Under the leadership of proprietor Beth Novak Milliken, Spottswoode has been on a roll, especially over the last few years. Aron Weinkauf arrived in 2006 and worked his way up to Winemaker with the 2011 vintage. Weinkauf told me he approached 2011 pretty much like any year, with the exception of dealing with botrytis, which is highly unusual in Napa Valley.
