Once again, I was really impressed with the wines I tasted from Scar of the Sea. Mikey Giugni has a way of coaxing so much character from the sites he works with. There are a number of highlights in this range, including the sublime Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block Q, Grenache Hofer Vineyard and Chardonnay Solera Aged Methode Ancestrale. The wines are done in a style that prizes nuance and understatement.
