Sandhi is one of the most exciting new wineries in central California. The project is a partnership between Rajat Parr, Sashi Moorman and Charles Banks. Parr is best known as the Wine Director for Michael Mina's empire of restaurants across the US, including RN74, which has quickly established itself as one of the country's top destinations for those who appreciate the best Burgundy has to offer. More recently he co-authored Secrets of the Sommeliers, an opinionated look at the inner sanctum of this country's top sommeliers. Moorman is the talented winemaker behind Evening Land, Stolpman and his own Piedrasassi label. Banks is best known as a former investor at Jonata and Screaming Eagle. These three wines are quite promising; it will be interesting to see where Sandhi goes from here. Next year's releases will include five single-vineyard Chardonnays and Pinots, so the range will be expanding dramatically.
