San Felice continues to fine-tune their range. The Chianti Classico Il Grigio, the estate's most visible wine, is now made just as a Riserva as opposed to both a Riserva and a Gran Selezione, while the Poggio Rosso has become the estate's Gran Selezione. This realignment shows more conviction around the Gran Selezione category, which was not the case a few years ago. Broadly speaking, quality has gone up at San Felice following a massive redevelopment of the vineyards that started some years ago. The Achilles heel remains too much oak on some wines. Unfortunately I did not taste new releases of the Vigorello and Pugnitello.
