I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted this year from Rocca di Frassinello and proprietor Paolo Panerai. The flagship Merlot Baffonero has been superb in several tastings over the last handful of months, which is pretty remarkable considering all of the challenges presented by the 2017 growing season. The 2018s are consistent across the board. I found the entry-level offerings to be quite strong, something that has not always been the case.
