If 2010 were indeed a difficult vintage, Wilhelm Weil has trumped it in spades. After the sublime 2009s, these wines may only appear to be extraordinary, but from kabinett to trockenbeerenauslese this collection is again first-rate. While Breuer, Kunstler and Leitz may foil his plot to stand alone with dry and off-dry rieslings, his spatlese and upwards have no match in the Rheingau at present. Further, with his "premier crus" Klosterberg and Turmberg he has now added a new dimension to the offer. As I have often written before, when you see this baby blue label, you can buy to your heart's content.
