Historic Burgundy house Louis Jadot has settled comfortably into their Willamette Valley outpost, which spreads across 79 acres in Yamhill-Carlton. In early January 2022, Jadot added to their holdings with the purchase of the 44-acre Koosah vineyard, in the heart of the Eola-Amity Hills; that property also includes another potential 39 acres for planting. The wines here are consistently well made and structured for aging, which can make them a bit difficult to judge early on. That was certainly the case with these 2018 single-vineyard wines and the newly released “basic” Willamette Valley bottlings, which all benefited from a lot of air, suggesting that they are best suited for the patient wine lover.
