Remoissenet president Pierre Rovani made it clear to me that he loves the 2014 reds “We picked late and ripe in 2014,” he told me "We never worry about acidity” The 2014 reds were bottled as late as July of ’16

This old firm, founded in 1877, has been dramatically renewed since the New York-based financiers/developers Edward and Howard Millstein purchased its vineyards, cellars and stock of old bottles in 2005. The Millsteins installed ex-wine Wine Advocate critic Pierre Rovani as President, with Claudie Jobard serving as consulting enologist/winemaker and Cyril Barbieri as chef de cave. Remoissenet owned just 2. 5 hectares of vines back in 2005, but has increased its holdings to 20 hectares, "all over the map," according to Rovani. The firm is also a major buyer of fruit and is normally able to select harvest dates.
The estate vineyards are farmed organically and the cellars in Beaune have been significantly upgraded since the transaction; the new team has purchased numerous new open-top wood fermenters and renewed their oak barrels. The Millsteins, by most accounts, got a good deal on their purchase but since then have invested heavily in improving the wines.
Remoissenet bottles a large number of wines, whites as well as reds, and on my first visit here in many years I focused on their estate wines.
