Responding not only to market demand but also to her own preferences, Annegret Reh-Gartner has placed an emphasis on dry Rieslings over the past few years, in particular for the production of Grosses Gewächs. Her 36 hectares of vineyards are a rosary of excellent sites on the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer, making Kesselstatt one of the few estates able to portray the entire region in all its facets. I thought her three 2013 Spätleses were the most accurate interpretations of Riesling of the vintage here.
