I was impressed with these new releases from Refugio Ranch. Winemaker Ryan Deovlet seems to have really dialed in a house style that is incredibly appealing. There is little doubt the wines are more focused and nuanced than they were just a few years ago. Picking a bit earlier than in the past and experimentation with larger format oak barrels are just two of the recent developments at Refugio Ranch, which is now one of the more exciting, emerging properties to watch in Santa Barbara County.
