Tasting the new releases from Pride was bittersweet. These are quite simply the most brilliant wines Sally Johnson made during her distinguished career at Pride. Johnson has since moved on to Robert Mondavi Winery, but she ended her time at Pride on a high note, to say the least. What I like most about these wines, especially the top selections, is that extra kick of vibrancy that Johnson added to play off the natural opulence that seems to come so easily here. It will be interesting to see where these wines go in the future. I have to say I find the style of these wines to be very, very attractive.
