These are the first wines I have tasted from Mindego Ridge. Proprietors Dave and Stacey Gollnick planted 8.7 acres of Pinot Noir and just 1.3 acres of Chardonnay, although Chardonnay may ultimately prove to be the more interesting of the two varieties grown here. The Gollnicks recently brought on the talented Ehren Jordan to make the wines (starting with the 2013 vintage) and also sell a small amount of Pinot to Thomas Fogarty. The Mindego Ridge and Fogarty Pinots from this site are so dramatically different that it is impossible to know yet what the true voice of the vineyard is. At the same time, the Mindego Ridge wines bear all the classic signatures of the Ehren Jordan style, which is undertandable at the beginning. Hopefully over time, the personality of this site will emerge more fully. Needless to say, it is going to be interesting to see how things develop here in coming years.
