Enzo Pontoni of Miani wasn’t prepared to show any of his single-vineyard wines from 2021 for review. Going forward, Pontoni will be bottling a year later than before and releasing the wines later. Instead, Even more interesting were the 2019 reds on the table. There will be no single-vineyard Merlot in 2019, as Pontoni instead placed it all into his Rosso, a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Refosco. Speaking of Refosco, the single-vineyard La Mont di Zuc was on full display. This is from one of Pontoni's highest-elevation vineyards, at 250 meters, and is refined for 24 months in a combination of new and used barriques. Cellaring will be required.
