Margid Mantler views modest must weights despite long hang time as the striking feature at the root of the personalities displayed by her and husband Sepp’s 2016s. The wines certainly represent an outstanding collection – indeed, one of the finest I can recall from two decades of tasting here. Significantly and encouragingly, two of the Mantler children began taking a significant role at the estate with this vintage while their father is in recovery from cancer treatments.
