Laurent harvested his domain vines between September 2 and 15, noting that the grapes started to turn after the rain toward the end of August."The 2011s are not like the 2010s," he told me."But there are exceptions.The 2011 Volnays were better than the 2010s, which had no taste at the beginning."My tasting began with Laurent's domain wines, which he vinifies with whole clusters.He adds virtually no SO2 until after the malolactic fermentations finish.
