I tasted through Lynmar's current and upcoming releases with new winemaker Shane Finley, who left Kosta Browne in March, 2012 to replace the departing Bibiana Gonzales-Rave. Finley said that his aim is "to continue on the program to emphasize intensity without extra weight" while noting that "our wines are known for their fruit and we're not looking to make austere wines." Finley finished the 2011s that I tasted, which he said "have really good focus and energy" and are for enjoying on the young side, although they could be longer lived than some might expect "because of their acidity and balance."
