Katy Wilson has a pretty full plate these days. Wilson left her job as Associate Winemaker at Kamen to focus on LaRue, her own project, where she is making Pinots that stand out for their finesse. In addition to LaRue, Wilson also consults to other wineries in the area, sharing those duties with her colleague Ross Cobb. Wilson's 2012s are quite pretty, even if the growing season has blurred some of the site-specific detail, which is one of the signatures of this vintage. Wilson typically gives her Pinots 16-17 months in oak, with only about 30% new barrels.
