Jamie Kutch turned out an attractive set of 2023s. The Pinots offer an enticing mix of forward fruit and cool-climate savoriness. The 2023s were vinified with 50% stems and spent 11 months in oak, all neutral. I also tasted the Chardonnays, embryonic wines that are in tank and quite promising. In other news, a new winery is in the works for the 2026 harvest. As good as the wines are, I feel they could be even better. There is only so much one person working alone can accomplish. Kutch has achieved more than most through extraordinary focus, but working alone is not sustainable and is also a significant operational risk.
