At 120 years and counting (estate bottling began here roughly 40 years ago), this estate is one of Abruzzo’s finest, renowned for its powerful wines. Originally known as Fattoria Nicò (from the founder’s name, Niccolò Illuminati), Illuminati now owns 130 hectares of vines and produces a million bottles of wine annually. Stefano, Lorenzo and Anna Illuminati are following in the footsteps of father Dino and are currently making some of the best wines in the estate’s history.
