Following breathtaking 2006s and crisp, pure 2007s, 2008 is another outstanding year here. Although the latest vintage will certainly not be remembered as an auslese vintage on the Mosel, Oliver Haag bottled five different versions, all of exemplary quality. Moreover, his kabinetts and spatleses were mouthwatering and even the dry rieslings, never the hallmark of this estate, are quite good, and the Grosses Gewachs first class. Anyone who doubted that son Oliver would be able to follow in his father's footsteps has been silenced by the past three vintages.
