This is the venture of winemaker Andy Erickson (Screaming Eagle, DallaValle, Ovid, Arietta) and his wife Annie Favia, who is a viticulturalist. Their first release was from the 2003 vintage, although Erickson noted that he and his wife made a wine together as long ago as 1996 (and a pinot noir to boot!). The wines are naturally made (no added yeasts or acidity, no fining or filtration) and two of the three bottlings feature substantial doses of cabernet franc. Erickson and Favia age their NapaValley wines (they also offer a few wines from AmadorCounty) in almost 100% new oak, mostly Taransaud barrels.
