It is 14 generations and counting at Emile Beyer; today, Christian and Valerie have taken over. Emile Beyer was the name of both Christian’s great-grandfather and his grandfather; it was the great-grandfather who divided the domaine in two, between Léon Beyer and Emile Beyer. The estate owns 17 hectares, largely around the town of Eguisheim; most are the historic plots owned by the original domaine when the property belonged to the monks. The domaine is organic-certified since 2014 and ought to become Demeter-biodynamic certified in 2018.
