Jason Drew made some of the most distinctive, pure 2014 Pinots and Syrahs I tasted on my January trip. Drew's wines capture the essence of a number of top sites in Anderson Valley, where he is based, and in the nearby Mendocino Ridge appellation. The wines are deceptively medium in body in that they have the ability to convey notable depth and intensity, but without excess weight. I can't recommend these 2014s highly enough.
