2021 La Diva

Born in Chinon, Loire, Bertrand Sourdais took charge of the family winery, Domaine de Pallus, in 2005. Prior to that, he had focused on the Province of Soria, Ribera del Duero, meticulously selecting the region’s fabled old vines. Sourdais founded Bodega Antídoto in 2009 and Dominio de Es in 2011. Boasting 771 parcels across the region that span roughly 55 hectares, his vines, some of which are over 80 years old, are the cornerstone of everything he does. "These are the young ones. Then come the old vines," he remarks earnestly. Sourdais' wines strive for a weightless structure in which reactive tannins provide the backbone when young and grow more polished with time. The cool climate in the region enhances the freshness of the fruit.
