I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted with Nathalie Tollot this year. Production is down 25% across the board. While that is tough to stomach financially, the wines are absolutely gorgeous. The Tollot-Beaut style remains quite classic, which means the wines are built for aging, especially at the top end. Still, I could not help notice how appealing many of the wines are at this early stage, which is largely the result of low yields that confer an extra kick of textural richness. There is a lot to like in this range of 2012s from Tollot-Beaut, an estate that in my view deserves much more attention.
