This property's wines, which are made under the consulting eye of Philippe Cambie, are consistent crowd-pleasers, with plenty of upfront fruit and harmonious tannins that support positive aging for a good decade. That said, I personally prefer them on the younger side for their intense fruit character. The 2012 vintage suits Hillaire's style well and his top cuvée, the Les Petits Pieds d'Armand, which is made from Grenache vines that were planted in 1898, is a real standout and well worth the effort to find.
