Michel Lafarge succinctly told me that "it's frankly hard to say which vintage is better between 2000 and 2001." From my perspective, I preferred slightly his 2000s but the difference is admittedly minor. The present plan is to bottle in late March or perhaps April. As an aside, I had the opportunity to retaste the Lafarge 2000 Clos des Chateau des Ducs and the Clos des Chenes and they are both first rate examples for the vintage and highly recommended; see Issue 10, pages 71 and 72 for the reviews.
