2015 Chiroubles

This relatively new, Fleurie-based domaine, which comprises four hectares in Fleurie and Chiroubles, is owned by well-known Volnay producer Frédéric Lafarge and his wife, Chantal, formerly known as Vial. Two thousand fourteen was the first vintage here but since the Lafarges set up shop in the spring of that year these 2015s represent the first wines that they crafted from budbreak to bottling. Fans of the Lafarge Volnays will find the style here familiar as the wines are concentrated, supple and polished, with fruit to the fore. Given this family’s long history of excellence in the Côte d’Or there's every reason to believe that their Beaujolais estate will soon be among the region's elite addresses.
