Winemaker William Waterkyn, who has worked at the Domaine since 2014, welcomed me to this Santenay-based producer at the weekend. “The vintage was easy compared to what we had in 2021,” he tells me. “There wasn’t a lot of disease pressure. We started the harvest on August 23. Samples are quite low in SO2 and will be bottled in January.” A bit of a mixed bag here, certainly in the entry-level side of the négoce range, but this is an address to seek out some well-made and well-priced cuvées from Volnay and Santenay.
