This is a domaine that I visited for the first time last year, after being tipped off by a member of the Dufouleur family working in Bordeaux. Father and son Guy and Yvan Dufouleur are based on the RN74 where it winds through Nuits Saint-Georges. The domaine was established in 2006. Yvan told me that in 2017 they started picking on September 5 with a small team, then two days later with the full team of pickers. “It was complicated choosing the date,” he said, mirroring the thoughts of many other winemakers. His 2017s are bottled under DIAM except for the Village Crus. Whilst I would not place the wines in the top flight of the appellation, there are some interesting crus, especially a very fine Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Perrières and Les Crots.
