This is a terrific set of wines from Régis Forey. Quality is strong throughout the range, but Forey has really done a stellar job with his top 1er Crus and Grand Crus, where the wines truly sing. This is one domaine where the quality difference between 2009 and 2010 is quite striking. My strong preference is for the 2010s. I tasted a few of the 2010 village wines from bottle, and the rest of the wines from barrel. The wines in barrel had not been racked.

"I adore the 2010 vintage," said Regis Forey. "The wines are wonderfully typical of Burgundy pinot noir. They have great balance and finesse, very good material and grape sugars, and fine, enrobed tannins." Forey added that crop levels were very low and that he planned to bottle on the early side to preserve fruit (four wines had already been racked into tank by the time of my visit). And he clearly believes that the wines are built to age. He noted that he doesn't think the 2008s have a big structure for aging, and that they should be enjoyed in the mid-term for their fruit and finesse. Forey did a relatively gentle extraction in 2010 to avoid crushing the grape seeds: just one pumpover per day until the end of the fermentation, then delestage or remontage at the end.
