Since Julien Brechet took control of his family’s 26-hectare estate in 2006, Domaine des Bosquets has been moving steadily, if not swiftly, up the Gigondas hierarchy, and in 2016 they produced not only some of the best wines of the appellation but of the entire southern Rhône. Brechet is a tireless worker and his vines are impeccably maintained. With the consultation of the ubiquitous Philippe Cambie, Brechet is making wines of significant depth as well as energy that, in terms of sheer fruit power and expression, are among the best values of the region at the high end, where they are comfortably ensconced.
