Sashi Moorman is one of the most thoughtful growers in the Sta. Rita Hills. Over the years, Moorman and winemaking partner Rajat Parr have refined their approach here, starting with the estate vineyard, which is now separated into distinct sections. Some blocks, those that yield more immediate wines, are now used for the Sandhi program. In the winery, one of the trends has been a move towards bottling earlier to preserve freshness. Stylistically, the Domaine de la Côte Pinots are marked by a strong presence of whole clusters, something that is especially marked in 2021, a vintage in which the wines are a bit slender relative to richer years such as 2020 and 2022.
