Lalou Bize-Leroy appears ageless. Her boundless enthusiasm for her vineyards and wines is palpable during the morning I spent at Domaine Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay. Everything is amped up at these two domaines; the Bize-Leroy style, site signatures and vintage are all remarkably vivid. I tasted all of the d'Auvenay whites in November 2012 prior to their bottling, which was scheduled for January 2013. I will report on the reds in a forthcoming article. The d'Auvenay whites, especially with a little bottle age, remain some of the most utterly captivating and thrilling wines I have ever tasted.
