It had been a tough year for Axelle Marchand de Gramont. Not only dealing with the tumultuous 2024 season, her 81-year-old father had a tractor accident, so she had to run the winery on her own whilst caring for her recuperating parent. Thankfully, he made a full recovery. “I picked from 8 September,” she told me. “The yields are 30 to 40 hl/ha. We realized that the 2022 and 2023 are the same yields as they were before we were farming organically. They will be bottled in April." Though there are no Premier or Grand Crus, this small portfolio has earned its loyal following.
