Tom Garrett presented a fine set of wines from his family’s Detert estate. Harvest started on September 2, just before the intense heat that followed. The bottled 2022s turned out well, although the challenges of the growing season are impossible to escape. Tasted from barrel, the 2023s are full of promise. I found the 2023s a bit reticent, with some wines in need of racking, but otherwise quite gorgeous.
