While known more for its Washington State wines and extremely large portfolio, Delille Cellars also excels with Pinot Noir from Oregon. The Saffron Fields and Lazy River Pinots are both sourced from Willamette Valley. Winemaker Jason Gorski explained that they may discontinue the production of the Lazy River to focus more on their core wines and the Saffron Fields, which was easily the standout in my tastings. I love to see a Washington producer making such excellent use of Pinot Noir. Both are radiant and graceful, with just a small percentage of new oak (around 20%) that adds lovely complexity.
